Organizations globally are dealing with the scourge in ransomware. Just note the following statistics:

1. Experts estimate that a ransomware attack will occur every 11 seconds in 2021. (Cybercrime Magazine, 2019)  and
2. The average ransom fee requested has increased from $5,000 in 2018 to around $200,000 in 2020. (National Security Institute, 2021)

It is clear the ransomware is here to stay. So the strategy must move beyond just prevention, to how you will manage the inevitable ransomware event.  

In our first chapter meeting for 2023, we will explore this critical and emerging topic. Our discussion will look at some key pillars of cybersecurity risk management and a few practical things to have in place, preferably before you are a victim.
