About Us – IIBA Kingston, Jamaica Chapter

The establishment of the IIBA Kingston, Jamaica Chapter began in 2007 with a few local Business Analysts coming together to discuss the need for local support of the profession. Coordinated entirely through volunteer activities and guidance from IIBA, the group hosted a Kick-off meeting in June 2008 to identify the level of interest and need for the formation of the local chapter throughout the wider business community.  With a response of approximately 40 persons in attendance at the kick of meeting, the need was established and plans went underway to have the chapter chartered.  The chapter held its first election of the board in February 2009 and by May 2009, the group was successful in the chapter being chartered.

The official launch ceremony to celebrate this achievement was held on June 11, 2009. Monthly meetings to present on topics relevant to th Business Analysis profession and practice are planned for both members and non-members.  Check the Events Calendar for a schedule of these meetings.

IIBA Kingston, Jamaica Chapter seeks to advance the mission and objectives of IIBA® by promoting professional standards and practices at the local level through activities, meetings, and educational programs.

IIBA Kingston Jamaica Chapter holds the honour of being the first IIBA Chapter in the Caribbean region and takes pride in having the first Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) in the Caribbean since April 2008.
